LGD Guangzhou plant mass production plan may be delayed until May: planned capacity reduced by one third

Affected by the new crown epidemic, LGD China's Guangzhou OLED factory's mass production plan may be disrupted again. Ranch Earlier Korean media reported that its plan was to start the Guangzhou 8.5 generation factory in the first quarter of this year, and due to the impact of the epidemic, mass production plans will be postponed to the second quarter. According to Korean media THEELEC reported on March 16, LGD Guangzhou plant may start mass production in May. The project was originally scheduled to begin mass production at the end of January, but was delayed due to a new coronavirus infection. Under the epidemic situation, the LGD Guangzhou plant's capacity target was also lowered by 33% compared to the previous one. In addition to the LGD Guangzhou project, the output of Wuhan BOE ’s 10.5 generation LCD factory (B17) also declined. Theelec data show that BOE is expected to produce 10K sheets in the first quarter, 25K sheets in the second quarter, 45K sheets in the third quarter, and 80K sheets in the fourth quarter. However, according to BOE ’s capacity target set last year, capacity in the first half of the year has been cut in half, and it may resume in the second half.
